This year’s Singapore Writers Festival centres itself on jiè, or the world at large. Across its continuum of meanings, jiè prompts one to consider both real and unreal worlds, both imagined and enforced boundaries, both the structure of our present reality and the possibility for new order. It is with much enthusiasm that we support the 2018 festival and the works contributed from literary talents hailing from around the world.

Over the ten-day festival, lectures, discussions, performances, workshops and classes will take place in four languages, making the Singapore Writers Festival one of the few multi-lingual literary events in the world. The festival amplifies voices that cross borders, living up to its mission to ‘revel in the realm of imagination… and explore multiple possibilities of reading, writing, and living.’

It is a pleasure to partner with the 2018 Singapore Writers Festival, and to be among the audiences this autumn. To mark this occasion, Aesop Raffles City is adorned with a literary installation from 26 October to 8 November. If in the area, please join us in store to celebrate the beauty of language.
